Rob Hemsworth
Rob Hemsworth graduated from the University of Manitoba with Bachelor’s degrees in Physical Education (BPE) and Education (BEd) before moving to Vancouver BC, where he completed a three-year massage therapy diploma to become a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT).
Metrotown Massage Therapy was founded in 2001 with the mission to restore and maintain optimal health for all patients. As a college instructor since 2003, Rob has applied his educational background to stay up-to-date and develop the minds and skills of future RMTs.
Since completing a Master of Rehabilitation Science (MRSc) at the University of British Columbia in 2017, Rob has worked for the research department of the Registered Massage Therapists’ Association of BC (RMTBC) to further advance research within the profession.
Rob’s personal interests include pursuing an active lifestyle and spending quality time taking road trips with his wife and two French Bulldogs.
Yolanda Fu
Yolanda Fu is a graduate of Langara College’s Registered Massage Therapy (RMT)
program.
During her time at the University of British Columbia, she graduated with a Bachelor of Kinesiology (BKin) and developed an immense appreciation for how the
many intricate systems of the human body connect and work together.
As a child, Yolanda’s empathetic nature led her to be passionate about helping others. She had
always known that healthcare is what she finds the most fulfilling.
Yolanda brings a patient-focused approach to massage therapy with a holistic lens, as she understands her purpose is not to cure patients but to assist them in their recovery
journey.
She has participated in clinical outreaches at various locations including senior
homes, sporting events and hospitals. Through them, she has experience delivering Swedish massage techniques such as effleurage, petrissage and tapotement, and also
uses myofascial release, trigger point release as well as active and passive stretching.
In her free time, Yolanda enjoys weightlifting, browsing on Netflix and is an enormous lover of food!
Zach Poole
Zach is a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT), Functional Range Release (FR) practitioner, and FRC Mobility Specialist.
Zach is passionate about working with clients to help them perform at their best utilizing effective techniques and education.
Having worked alongside athletes for over 7 years, as well as competing in junior-provincial weightlifting, Zach understands the recovery methods required to stay functioning at your best.
Zach’s approach focuses on the importance of daily movement and recovery methods as a cornerstone activities to living a healthy life.
His approach is individually tailored to each client’s needs – both in the moment and for their overall treatment goals.
With a passion for learning, Zach draws on different techniques, ranging from relaxation and breathwork, to sports massage, and active rehabilitation.
Dr. Hafeez Merani
Dr. Hafeez Merani (BKin, DC) graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Kinesiology degree and subsequently from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) with Clinical Honours.
Throughout his university career, Hafeez was a member of the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiologists and the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Hafeez is a certified Full Body Functional Anatomical Palpation (FAP) Provider, and has his M1 Training under the Graston Technique.
Hafeez believes strongly in community service, having worked for Simon Fraser University’s Men’s Hockey Team and lecturing students in the UBC Faculty of Medicine on the importance of collaboration between family physicians and chiropractors.
He has also spoken at both the Best Buy and Translink head offices on the importance of ergonomics and prevention of musculoskeletal injuries.
Hafeez was a board member for the Chiropractic College of British Columbia from 2017-2020 whose principal mandate is to protect the public.
In his spare time, he enjoys weight training and mountain biking. Hafeez currently lives in Port Moody with his wife Hasina and two daughters, Lyla and Rayna.
