Meet the Metrotown Massage Therapy Team
Rob Hemsworth graduated from the University of Manitoba with Bachelor’s degrees in Physical Education (BPE) and Education (BEd) before moving to Vancouver BC, where he completed a three-year massage therapy diploma to become a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT).
Metrotown Massage Therapy was founded in 2001 with the mission to restore and maintain optimal health for all patients. As a college instructor since 2003, Rob has applied his educational background to stay up-to-date and develop the minds and skills of future RMTs. Since completing a Master of Rehabilitation Science (MRSc) at the University of British Columbia in 2017, Rob has worked for the research department of the Registered Massage Therapists’ Association of BC (RMTBC) to further advance research within the profession.
Rob’s personal interests include pursuing an active lifestyle and spending quality time taking road trips with his wife and two French Bulldogs.
Dr. Hafeez Merani
Dr. Hafeez Merani (BKin, DC) graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) with Clinical Honours.
During his tenure at CMCC, Hafeez displayed exemplary leadership as Students’ Council President and Class Valedictorian. He was awarded a number of accolades, including the Board of Governors’ Chair’s Award and Marilyn Phillips Award, both recognizing leadership and service to the student body, faculty relations, and helping to inform academic/fiscal policy at the college.
Hafeez received a Bachelor of Kinesiology degree from the University of British Columbia
Throughout his university career, Hafeez was a member of the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiologists and the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Hafeez is a certified Full Body Functional Anatomical Palpation (FAP) Provider, and has his M1 Training under the Graston Technique.
Hafeez believes strongly in community service, working for Simon Fraser University’s Men’s Hockey Team as their chiropractor from 2012 – 2014.
Over the past two years, Hafeez has lectured students in the UBC Faculty of Medicine on the importance of collaboration between family physicians and chiropractors. He has also spoken at both the Best Buy and Translink head offices on the importance of ergonomics and prevention of musculoskeletal injuries. Hafeez currently works with the Canadian Chiropractic Examination Board as an examiner. He also is a board member for the Chiropractic College of British Columbia whose principal mandate is to protect the public. In his spare time, he enjoys weight training and mountain biking. Hafeez currently lives in Port Moody with his wife Hasina and two daughters.

Jamie joined the clinic in February 2018. Originally from the Phillipines, she moved to Canada in 2003 to be with her family and to pursue further education in Canada. She met her husband Michael in 2007 and they now have two beautiful daughters, Mikeylah and Mia.
Jamie looks forward to ensuring your experience at the clinic is enjoyable and always comes to work with a smile and passion to help others.
Tiffany joined the clinic in January 2020. Tiffany completed her undergraduate studies at Simon Fraser University with double major in Finance and Operations Management. Upon graduation, Tiffany will continue to pursue higher education in the Master of Business Administration program. In her previous work experience, Tiffany obtained extensive experience in customer service; her warm compassion makes clients feel welcomed in the clinic.
Outside of work, Tiffany enjoys travelling and spending time with her friends and family. She is a gourmand who loves to explore new restaurants and is constantly in search of new food adventures.
Maddy De La Rama
Madelyn is an undergraduate kinesiology student at Simon Fraser University (SFU). She strives to find a fulfilling career helping others. When not at work, Madelyn volunteers at the SFU Physiotherapist clinic as a clinic assistant for student athletes. Over time she has developed a passion for dance; She continues to share her knowledge and love through the SFU Hip Hop Club. Since joining at the clinic in January 2020, her ambition is to provide excellent service while developing meaningful connections with patients, and to maintain the welcoming environment.
